Name: Liat Poupko

My background: BSc in molecular biology; fourth year medical student.

My current role in the group: Research assistant.

My research topic: Participating in research on the presence of COVID-19 in wastewater and environmental antimicrobial resistance.

Something interesting about me: I am a U.S. native, living in Israel for over the last decade. When I moved to Israel, I completed one year of national volunteer service in Sha’are Zedek Medical Center, which inspired my medical career. I am currently in my fourth year of medical school at the Medical School for International Health at Ben-Gurion University. My main areas of interest are infectious disease and pediatrics.
